David Courtney, CKD has been in the kitchen industry since 1987 when he opened the Kitchen Court showroom. In 1996 David earned his CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) designation. This certification which is administered by the NKBA takes many years of training and expertise to achieve. David's many top design awards include: International 2003 Kitchen + Bath Design Awards

Alexis Courtney, CKD has been in the kitchen industry since 1975 when she began her career as an assistant in the buying office of a large Canadian retailer. From there Alexis spent ten years as a Training Instructor with a major Canadian kitchen cabinet manufacturer, in charge of training schools for kitchen designers. As well, her duties included providing technical support and design advice to a wide network of kitchen dealers throughout Ontario. Alexis has also earned the prestigious CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) designation from the National Kitchen & Bath Association. Many years of training and expertise are required to achieve this designation which must be maintained annually through ongoing industry-related education. Alexis has been an owner and the technical mastermind of the Kitchen Court design team since 1990. Since her recent transfer to designing directly for her own clients, two of Alexis’ designs have already been honoured with awards, including: Canadian NKBA Design Competition:

Allie’s qualifications include her HBA in French Language and Literature from the University of Western Ontario, Construction Theory at Ryerson University and a Certificate in Interior Decorating from George Brown College. Allie has achieved her AKBD (Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer) designation from the NKBA and is currently pursuing the credits required to earn the Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) designation. With degrees in Economics and Hospitality & Tourism, Janet brings a varied background and multi-faceted experience to her position as a designer with Kitchen Court. As well as studies in Art, Photography and Interior Decorating, Janet has traveled extensively to study architecture in Europe, Asia and Australia, enhancing her highly creative approach to the challenges of kitchen design. Janet’s involvement in every aspect of several major renovation projects including kitchens, bathrooms and wine cellars has provided her with extensive knowledge of the planning skills as well as the design abilities required for every successful renovation. A passion and great enthusiasm for design combined with a meticulous attention to detail ensures Janet’s clients receive a beautifully designed and functional kitchen, each one stamped with her signature style. Janet is currently working on her CKD accreditation from the National Kitchen & Bath Association. |

Jennifer Freiberg is a specialist in kitchen and bath design. With ten years of design experience, she possesses a high level of creativity, energy, accuracy and industry knowledge. After graduating from Durham College, she received her Interior Design Diploma and is currently working towards her Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) designation from the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA). Jennifer values the importance of staying current with market trends as verified by the many NKBA course certificates she has earned, and stays connected through a large network of designers. With an abundance of full project cycle experience, she is able to bring that knowledge to enhance her design creations and execute them with her clients’ needs in mind. Design is Jennifer’s passion as well as her career and this is highlighted with her kitchen designs previously featured in Style at Home Magazine. |
